What should I wear when visiting, and what etiquette applies inside?
Please wear clean, modest clothing that covers your shoulders and knees; women also cover their hair with a headscarf inside the prayer hall. Shoes are removed at the entrance before stepping onto the prayer carpets, and mobile phones should be switched to silent.
Is there a separate prayer room for women?
Yes, the building at Eisenstraße 51 has a dedicated prayer room for women. In addition, the on-site car park is open to women attending Friday prayer.
Are there ablution facilities and step-free access?
Yes, the mosque has dedicated washrooms for ritual ablution (wudu) before prayer, and the entrance at Eisenstraße 51 is wheelchair accessible.
When should I arrive for Friday prayer (Jumuʿa)?
Jumuʿa is held at 13:30 during winter time and at 14:30 in summer time. Because the Friday sermon (khutba) is an essential part of the service and precedes the prayer itself, arriving 15 to 20 minutes early is recommended.
Where can I park when visiting the mosque?
There is a car park on the premises, which on Fridays is reserved exclusively for women, people with disabilities and the imam. Parking directly in front of or opposite the mosque on Eisenstraße or in neighbouring company driveways is prohibited; please use public parking along Bornstraße or Eisenhüttenweg, or take Stadtbahn line U42 to the stop Eisenstraße.
How can I contact the association about classes for children or adults?
The association runs regular classes for both children and adults. For current schedules and registration details, please contact us by phone on +49 162 3804412 or by email at info@alhuda-institution.de.
